Skills/Requirements:

Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.

Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration.

Submit in writing current textbook, supply, and equipment needs to the Dean of Education.

Communicate with Dean of Education on all issues related to students.

Set up and operate numerical control machine tools that automatically mill, drill, broach, and ream metal and plastic parts. May adjust machine feed and speed, change-cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machine malfunctions. Setup and be able to operate CNC Mills, lathe, grinding machines, drill-press, or other machines / tools manual or semiautomatic.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Selects, measures, assembles, and sets machine tools, such as drill bits and milling or cutting tools, using precision gauges and instruments. Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments, fixtures, and work-piece on machine, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Loads control media; such as tape, card, disk, or program in machine controller or enters commands to retrieve programmed instructions.
Develops from the work-piece documentation the CNC programs required to produce the item. Determines specifications or procedures for tooling set-up, machine operation, work-piece dimensions, or numerical control sequences, using blueprints, instructions, and machine knowledge.
Calculates and sets machine controls to position tools, or regulate cutting depth, speed, feed, or coolant flow. Starts automatic operation of numerical control machine to machine parts or test setup, work-piece dimensions, or programming. Monitors machine operation and control panel displays to detect malfunctions and compare readings to specifications. Stops machine to remove finished work-piece or change tooling, setup, or work-piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
Measures dimensions of finished work-piece to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
Maintains machines and removes and replaces broken or worn machine tools, using hand tools. Cleans machine, tooling, and parts as required.
Confers with supervisor to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors and obtains approval to continue production as required.
